The world of cricket was shocked on Tuesday night when Mayank Agarwal, the skipper of Karnataka and presently the injured opener for India, was taken to the hospital shortly before his flight to New Delhi was scheduled to depart.

After consuming a beverage from a bag that he mistook for water and that was left on his seat while travelling on an IndiGo Airlines flight, Mayank is currently regarded to be safe. However, according to a PTI story, the Indian cricket player has asked his management to report the incident to the police so that they may look into it.

'Mayank Agarwal plays cricket for the Indian national team. His vital signs are normal, and he is now stable. However, to look into the problem, his management has filed a special complaint with the NCCPS (New Capital Complex Police Station),' SP West Tripura Kiran Kumar informed the news agency.

The policeman went on to describe the incident in great detail.

According to his manager, there was a bag in front of him when he was seated on the aircraft. He didn't drink much, but when he did, his lips started to hurt. He also lost the ability to speak and was sent to the ILS hospital. He suffered from mouth ulcers and swelling. His vitals are steady otherwise.

Mayank Agarwal Performance

Following his team's 29-run victory against Tripura, Mayank was set to go to Gujarat for the following Ranji Trophy match, which would pit Karnataka against Railways. But given his current health, it seems sense that the opener will not play; instead, Mayank will be sent to Bengaluru to receive further care.

Mayank has played for India in 21 Test matches, however after a string of unsatisfactory results, he was dropped from the team in 2022. Before the previous season, the opener was also released by the Punjab Kings team, and Sunrisers Hyderabad later signed him. With the team, he had a mediocre season, making 270 runs in 10 games.
