IPL 2024 Updates
- Ben Stokes withdrew his name from IPL 2024. He decided not to play IPL citing fitness and workload. He was a part of CSK's squad in IPL 2023. CSK has not released him yet. This means CSK can retain Ben Stokes during the IPL 2025 auction. At the same time, if CSK releases the stocks, then an amount of Rs 16.25 crore will be available to it in the auction to be held in December.
- A trade has taken place between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants. In this, Rajasthan Royals have exchanged their batsman Devdutt Padikkal (Rs 7.75 crore) and Lucknow Super Giants have exchanged their bowler Avesh Khan (Rs 10 crore). This means that now Avesh will be seen in the jersey of Royals and Padikkal will be seen in the jersey of Giants.
- Gautam Gambhir was the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023. Now in 2024 he will be the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders. He has made KKR the IPA champion under his captaincy in 2012 and 2014.
- Lucknow Super Giants took the first step in preparation for the IPL 2024 auction by trading a player in the beginning of November. They traded Romario Shepherd to Mumbai Indians.
Hardik Pandya ready to join Mumbai Indians?
So far, Devdutt Padikkal, Avesh Khan and Romario Shepherd have changed their teams in the trade window. However, there are reports that Gujarat Titans captain and India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is going to return and join his old franchise Mumbai Indians. He will be traded from Gujarat to Mumbai.
