The Indian cricket team's schedule in 2024 is set to be action-packed, with the Indian men's and women's teams looking to take their 2023 successes one step further.
In the year 2023, the Indian men's cricket team was successful in reaching the finals of the ICC World Test Championship and ODI World Cup, while the Indian women's cricket team made headlines by defeating England and Australia in Test cricket.
The men's and women's Indian cricket teams will compete in a number of bilateral series, home and away, across all three formats this year. However, ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be the top priority for both the cricket teams.
The Indian men's cricket team last won the ICC Trophy in 2013 when the MS Dhoni-led side defeated England to lift the Champions Trophy. Whereas, if we talk about the Indian women's cricket team, then the Women in Blue have been successful in reaching the finals of both the ODI and T20 World Cups, but the team has not won the ICC trophy yet.
The Indian men's team will start its new year with the ongoing Test series in South Africa. These matches are part of the World Test Championship 2023-25. India's first home series of 2024 will be a three-match T20I (T20I) series starting on January 11.
January will be a particularly busy month for the team with the five-match Test series between India and England starting on January 25.
Apart from international tours, Indian players will participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. There are no international matches scheduled during the IPL 2024 window between March and May. After the IPL, the team will tour West Indies and USA for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
The team will travel to Bangladesh for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 in September. The Indian women's team will tour Australia for a three-match ODI series at the end of the year and India will host the West Indies in their final tour of the year.
