Asian Games 2026: India’s Wushu star Roshibina Devi Naorem has added another medal to India’s tally at the ongoing Asian Games in Nagoya. Roshibina won the silver medal in the women’s 60kg Sanda event after losing to China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in the final on Thursday, September 24.

Zhang Xiaoyu dominated the contest and defeated Roshibina 2-0, winning both rounds by 5-0. The Chinese athlete finished the final with a 10-0 scoreline to claim the gold medal, while Roshibina took silver.

Roshibina Devi Loses 60kg Sanda Final, Misses Asian Games Gold

Roshibina Devi entered the women’s 60kg Sanda final with a chance to win the gold medal for India. However, Zhang Xiaoyu controlled the contest and did not allow the Indian fighter to make a comeback.

Zhang won the first round 5-0 and repeated the same score in the second round. She eventually completed a 10-0 victory to secure the gold medal.

Roshibina finished the competition with a silver medal, adding another major achievement to her Asian Games record.

Zhang Xiaoyu Beats Roshibina Devi 2-0 in Wushu Final

The Chinese Wushu athlete was dominant throughout the final. Zhang maintained a clear advantage in both rounds and finished the contest without dropping a round.

Roshibina Devi Wins Her Third Consecutive Asian Games Medal

Although Roshibina missed out on the gold medal, her silver in Nagoya has created a special record.

She has now won medals at three consecutive Asian Games:

• 2023 Hangzhou: Silver
• 2026 Nagoya: Silver

Roshibina has become the first Indian woman to win Wushu medals at three consecutive Asian Games.
