Before the second Test match between India and Australia in Adelaide, the host team has suffered a major setback. The team's star fast bowler Josh Hazlewood will not be able to play in the day-night Test match starting on December 6. According to Cricket Australia, Hazlewood has suffered an injury, due to which he will not be able to play this match. Sean Abbott and Brendan Doggett have been included in the team. Hazlewood will stay with the team in Adelaide. Due to Hazlewood's exclusion, Scott Boland may get a chance in the playing-11 of the second Test match.

Hazlewood bowled well in the first Test match played in Perth. In the first innings, he took four wickets for 29 runs. This included the wicket of Virat Kohli. Hazlewood did not concede many runs in the second innings as well. However, he was able to take only one wicket. Boland is considered certain to play in his place. Boland will play against India in the match to be played between India and Australian Prime Minister XI. He played his last match for Australia at Headingley in July 2023.

Australia had to face defeat in the Perth Test match. India made a great comeback in this match. Team India won this match by 295 runs. Now by winning the second match, Team India would like to take the lead in the series. On the other hand, the Australian team would not want to lose even a single match now. That is why they would like to enter Adelaide with their full strength. However, the departure of Hazelwood will reduce the strength of the team because he is the best fast bowler of the present time. Without him, it will be a challenge for Australia to defeat India.
