India produced a sensational performance in the Women’s Hockey Junior Asia Cup 2026, thrashing arch-rivals Pakistan 19-0 in the quarter-final on Thursday, September 10. The one-sided contest in Mokpo, China, saw the Indian team dominate from the opening whistle and comfortably book a place in the semi-finals.
The defending champions completely controlled the game and never allowed Pakistan to find a way back. India’s attacking hockey proved too strong for the Pakistani defence, while their opponents failed to score even once during the match.

India started the contest with an attacking approach and immediately put Pakistan under pressure. The Indian forwards repeatedly entered the attacking circle and created scoring opportunities.

India scored an incredible 10 goals in the first two quarters, taking a commanding 10-0 lead into half-time.

Pooja Malik emerged as India’s leading scorer after finding the net three times. She scored in the 27th, 49th and 51st minutes to complete her hat-trick.
Chandrakanta Sanika Mane, Madhu Sirdar, Supriya and Aind Roshni scored two goals each.
Pooja Sahu, Dinesh Tunshree Kadu, Sukhveer Kaur, Geeta Yadav, Tanuja Toppo, Purnima Yadav, Krishna Sharma and Binima Dhan also contributed with one goal apiece.
India’s Attack Runs Riot With 19 Goals Against Pakistan
India’s dominance was evident in every department. The team constantly put pressure on Pakistan and made the most of their opportunities.
Of India’s 19 goals, seven came from penalty corners, while two were scored through penalty strokes. The remaining 11 goals came from field play, underlining the strength of India’s attacking unit.
India Top Elite Pool With 10 Points
India had already impressed during the Elite Pool stage. Both India and China finished the group stage with 10 points, but India secured the top position because of their superior goal difference.
The Indian team defeated Japan, Korea and Malaysia, while their match against China ended in a draw.
Pakistan, meanwhile, finished third in the Challenger Pool with seven points from four matches. Bangladesh topped the pool, followed by Kazakhstan.
