Young fast bowler Harshit Rana, who has previously represented India on the tour of England, has been ruled out of the entire T20I series against Afghanistan. Rana had initially been included in the squad subject to clearance from the medical staff.
According to team sources, his hamstring injury has not yet healed sufficiently for him to participate in competitive international matches. A BCCI source stated that Rana requires more time for rehabilitation before he can bowl at full capacity. This setback has also raised concerns regarding his preparations for the upcoming Asian Games campaign.

There is welcome news for Indian fans, however, as star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is recovering rapidly. Bumrah has been sidelined since sustaining a left-knee injury during the ODI series against England.
