ENG vs PAK The pitch of the Rawalpindi Test played between Pakistan and England has been declared below standard by the ICC. There was no help for the bowlers on this pitch and runs flowed in plenty.

The Rawalpindi pitch has been rated by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as below average. A lot of runs were scored in the Rawalpindi Test against England and Pakistan. England won that match by 74 runs.

With this, the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium has had to bear the brunt of one demerit point. ICC Elite Panel match referee Andy Pycroft said it was a flat pitch with no help for the bowlers.

This was the reason that the batsmen rained heavily on this ground and big scores were scored by both the teams. There would have been hardly any change in the pitch within the full five days. Andy Pycroft said that we found it below average according to the ICC guidelines. There was no help for the bowlers here.

1,768 runs were made including 7 centuries

A lot of runs were scored in the Rawalpindi Test match. A total of 1,768 runs were scored in that match. Apart from this, 7 batsmen had played century innings. Not only this, on the very first day of the match, four batsmen of England had scored a century and scored 500 runs. A score of over 500 in one day was a world record.

This is the second time the pitch has been rated below average and the stadium has been given one demerit point. Earlier in March, when Australia's team came on Pakistan tour, even then this ground was declared below average by the ICC.

What is the rule of demerit point

Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium has got two demerit points. If a stadium gets 5 demerit points during 5 years, then the ICC bans its hosting for one year. After this, no international match can be held on that ground for 1 year. So PCB has to pay attention to this.
