Abhishek Porel Arrested: Abhishek Porel, known for smashing sixes in the IPL, appears to have been 'clean bowled' in his personal life. He has been arrested by the Bengal Police. Porel, who plays for the Delhi Capitals, faces sensational allegations of rape.

A medical student leveled these accusations against him. Porel was arrested in Hooghly and has been remanded to police custody for three days. The 23-year-old player is accused of promising marriage to the medical student and subsequently engaging in a sexual relationship with her. Furthermore, he is accused of recording a video of the woman.

Porel also accused of making threats

An order for the arrest of Abhishek Porel was issued on July 14. The Calcutta High Court had directed the arrest of Porel and another accused individual. It was also ordered that a pen drive in their possession be seized. The police informed the court that the pen drive had been seized and sent for forensic examination.

Significantly, the complainant had accused the police of failing to take action. Following this, she approached the Calcutta High Court, where she alleged that Porel had threatened to make private photographs public.

Woman Alleges She Was Held Captive

Abhishek Porel also faces allegations of holding a woman captive. According to reports, the victim came into contact with Porel in 2023. It is alleged that discussions regarding marriage took place between their families, but on April 2, 2026, she was assaulted in Delhi. The woman also alleged that she was held captive. However, these allegations have not yet been proven.

Abhishek Porel's Career in Jeopardy

Abhishek Porel is now in deep trouble following his arrest; his career could even be jeopardized. The left-handed wicketkeeper-batter has scored 769 runs in 35 IPL matches at an average of 25.6, including four half-centuries. He has also played 32 First-Class matches for Bengal, along with 23 List A games and 61 T20 matches.
