During Monday's IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at Chepauk, Ravindra Jadeja not only displayed his skill on the field but also his humorous side, making hundreds of CSK supporters laugh with a well-executed joke.

Later in the game, when Jadeja had entranced the KKR batsmen with a match-winning performance, he couldn't resist pulling a practical joke that gave the contest an extra entertaining element.

When the middle-order batsmen for the home team are removed, CSK supporters have a special custom of applauding, hoping that their idol, former captain MS Dhoni, will soon be taking the field. The audience exploded in joy upon Shivam Dube's dismissal, demonstrating this custom once more.

Taking advantage of the excitement among the supporters, Jadeja pulled a practical joke. Much to the delight of the applauding audience, he faked to come out to bat while fully padded up. The spectators burst out laughing and shouting, though, as he turned around and made his way back to the bench with a wicked smirk.

Later on, it became clear that Dhoni himself was the mastermind behind the practical joke. According to Tushar Deshpande, he heard Dhoni say to Jadeja, 'You go out. But, I’ll bat before you.' Subsequently, Jadeja verified in an IPL video that Dhoni desired to offer the supporters a 'paisa vasool' (worth for money) experience.

In addition to providing spectators with entertainment, the prank demonstrated the team spirit and togetherness inside CSK.
