Team India Physio: Team India physio Kamlesh Jain resigns; constant travel and family cited as main reasons
Ahead of the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan starting on September 13, significant news has emerged regarding the Indian cricket team's support staff. Team India's lead physiotherapist, Kamlesh Jain, has submitted his resignation to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). However, he is currently with the team in Delhi, and the BCCI has not yet officially accepted his resignation.
3-month notice period; New Zealand tour could be the final assignment
According to information from team sources and the BCCI, Kamlesh Jain—a native of Chennai who joined Team India in June 2022—is currently serving his three-month notice period. Unless the board relieves him earlier, the tour of New Zealand, which concludes in early December, could be his final assignment with the Indian team.
Kamlesh Jain had replaced Nitin Patel as Team India's lead physio after Patel moved to the Bengaluru-based Centre of Excellence (CoE); Patel has since joined the Mumbai Indians.
What is the main reason behind the resignation?
Kamlesh Jain was brought into the Team India set-up directly from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during Rahul Dravid's tenure as head coach. He has been associated with the national team for the past four to four-and-a-half years.
According to sources, while Jain's stint with the Indian team was excellent, the hectic schedule of international cricket and the excessive travel meant he was unable to devote enough time to his young family (specifically, his small children).

Kamlesh Jain's resignation is the latest in a series of departures from the Indian team's support staff in recent times:
- T Dilip: T Dilip, Team India's long-serving fielding coach, stepped down after the recent UK tour.
- Ryan ten Doeschate: Former assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has also parted ways and has now joined the coaching set-up of the Kolkata Knight Riders.
