Pujara scored a Test century after more than three years, First Test century for Shubman Gill

Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has scored a century in Test cricket after a long time. Pujara has scored a century in the second innings of the first Test match being played against Bangladesh. As soon as his century was completed, India declared the innings. This is Pujara's first century since 2019. He missed a century in the first innings. Pujara scored an unbeaten 102 off 130 balls. With this the Indian innings was announced. This is Pujara's fastest century in Tests. India declared the innings on 258 runs at the loss of two wickets.

Pujara has scored a century after 52 innings. This is the 19th century of his Test career. Pujara scored a century against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 2019. Since then he was yearning for a century. But was not coming. In the first innings too, he came close to a century but was dismissed for 90 runs.

First Test century for Shubman Gill

Apart from Pujara, India's opener Shubman Gill also scored a century in this match. Both of them put India in a strong position by sharing a century partnership. Both of them shared 113 runs for the second wicket. Gill was dismissed on a total score of 183. After this Pujara's century was awaited. Pujara showed aggression from here and shot forward several times. He made a half-century partnership with Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli remained unbeaten after scoring 19 runs off 29 balls.
