As part of a well-thought-out strategy by the team management, young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been withdrawn from the remaining four matches of the ODI series. This decision has been taken to ensure thorough preparation for the upcoming Test series, which begins on November 19.

In line with this strategy, Nitish Kumar Reddy will now feature for 'India A' in the third and final unofficial Test match, starting on November 7. It is worth noting that Nitish was not part of the playing XI for the first ODI, and he has now stepped away from the main ODI squad to focus on his preparations for the Test series.

In the first ODI, Team India fielded four primary pace-bowling options: Arshdeep Singh, Gurnoor Brar, Aaqib Nabi, and Anshul Kamboj. However, star fast bowler Mohammed Siraj could not participate in that match as he was playing in the second unofficial Test for 'India A' and was unable to join the Indian team in Auckland.

The good news is that Mohammed Siraj has now joined the Indian team in Wellington for the second ODI. In the first match, all the Indian bowlers with the exception of Aaqib Nabi, delivered strong and effective performances. In this scenario, it will be quite interesting to see whose place in the playing eleven is taken by Siraj, who is set to lead the pace-bowling attack.
