Asian Champions Trophy 2024: India beat Malaysia 8-1 to register their third consecutive win in the tournament. India will now take on South Korea in their fourth match on September 12.

The Indian men's hockey team's excellent performance continues in the Asian Champions Trophy. The Paris Olympics bronze medalist Indian team defeated Malaysia 8-1 in its third round robin match. Rajkumar Pal scored 3 goals, captain Harmanpreet Singh scored 1, Jugraj Singh scored 1, Uttam scored 1 and Arijit Singh Hundal scored 2 goals for India. India dominated Malaysia from the first quarter itself and scored 5 goals till half time. After this, Team India added 3 more goals to its account in the second half. This is India's third consecutive victory in the Asian Champions Trophy being played in Moqi, China. Earlier, India defeated the host 3-0 in its first match and then defeated Japan 5-1 in the second match.

Raj Kumar Pal scored the first goal for India in the third minute. Arijit Singh Hundal scored a goal 3 minutes later. The third goal was scored from a penalty corner in which Jugraj Singh contributed. The fourth goal came from captain Harmanpreet's stick through PC. The series of goals continued even after this. Breaking through Malaysia's defense, Raj Kumar Pal scored two consecutive goals in the 25th and 33rd minutes to give India a 5-0 lead in the first half. India scored 3 goals in the second half. Malaysia was able to score only 1 goal. Now India will face South Korea on 12 September and then Team India will face Pakistan on 14 September.
