Suryakumar Yadav Dropped from Mumbai Ranji Trophy Squad: Everyone was surprised when the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced the squad for the opening match of the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. Star batter Suryakumar Yadav's name was missing from the 16-member team. Despite reports indicating that Surya had expressed a desire to play, he did not secure a spot. Now, an MCA source has revealed the actual reason behind this decision.
Absence from Training Camp and Lack of Red-Ball Practice

The primary reason for excluding Suryakumar Yadav from the Ranji squad was his continued absence from the team's training camp. According to the MCA source, the Mumbai team has been practicing with the red ball for the past month, whereas Surya has been away from red-ball cricket for a considerable time. He had neither played any red-ball matches nor participated in practice sessions recently.

Opportunity for Youngsters and Delayed Response to Selectors
When the selectors tried to contact Surya about 10 days ago, they received no response. Although he later declared himself available for selection, the selectors felt it would be unfair to drop the young players who had been training hard for a month just to accommodate him. Consequently, he was not included in the squad for the match against Chandigarh, scheduled for October 11–14.

The doors to the Mumbai team have not closed for Suryakumar. If he wishes to make a comeback, he must prove his fitness and form by playing in local Mumbai Cricket Association tournaments, such as the Police Shield or Purushottam Shield.
