IND A vs AUS A 1st ODI: The decision taken by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the first unofficial ODI against Australia A at the Siechem Ground in Puducherry has proven to be spot-on.

Suryansh Shedge, the 23-year-old fast-bowling all-rounder brought into the India A squad to replace the injured star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, delivered a magnificent performance that rattled the visiting Australian batting lineup.

Relying on precise line and length, Shedge claimed four wickets in the match, emerging as India A's most successful bowler.

Claimed 4 wickets for 40 runs in 7 overs

Hardik Pandya had been selected for this series subject to fitness clearance, but he was ruled out after failing to fully recover from pain while bowling.

In this situation, young Suryansh Shedge got an opportunity, which he seized with both hands. In this match, Shedge claimed his first victim by having Nikhil Chaudhary caught by Anukul Roy

Later in the match, as a dangerous 141-run partnership for the sixth wicket was developing between Australian captain Will Sutherland and Nathan McSweeney, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad handed the ball back to Suryansh Shedge.

Shedge then broke this century partnership in the 40th over by clean-bowling the dangerous-looking Australian captain, Will Sutherland.

Subsequently, in the 42nd over, Shedge wreaked havoc by dismissing Todd Murphy and Spencer Johnson on consecutive deliveries both caught by wicketkeeper Prabhsimran Singh effectively breaking the back of the Australian innings. Shedge claimed 4 wickets for 40 runs in his quota of 7 overs

McSweeney's Century, but Australia Fold for 274

In this match, Nathan McSweeney played a magnificent innings, scoring a century (123 runs off 135 balls); however, the Australian team was bowled out for 274 runs in 48.2 overs by the Indian bowlers.

Fast bowler Yash Thakur claimed 3 wickets for 47 runs in his 9 overs, while left-arm pacer Arshad Khan took 2 wickets for 48 runs in 8.2 overs. Additionally, spinner Nishant Sindhu picked up 1 wicket.
