US Open Tennis 2026 Prize Money: The US Open—the final Grand Slam of the year—has set a new record by announcing the largest prize money in tennis history.

According to the United States Tennis Association (USTA), the tournament's total prize pool for this year has been raised to $108 million (approximately ₹1,033 crore). This amount represents a 20 percent increase over the previous year and a 44 percent rise compared to 2024.

How much prize money will the champion receive?

This time, the champions in the men's and women's singles categories will be awarded a record-breaking sum of $5.5 million (approximately ₹52 crore). Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka, who won the titles in 2025, received $5 million; that amount has now been significantly increased. Notably, even a player eliminated in the first round of the tournament will become a millionaire.

Every player in the 128-player main draw who loses in the first round will receive approximately $140,000 (around ₹1.34 crore). Meanwhile, players who reach the top 8 will earn $780,000 (around ₹7.4 crore).

Additionally, players reaching the semi-finals will receive $1.45 million (around ₹13 crore). The runner-up in the final will receive $2.8 million (around ₹26.8 crore), which is roughly half the amount awarded to the champion.

Doubles, Wheelchair Events, and Special Player Assistance Fund

Winners of the men's, women's, and mixed doubles events will receive $1 million (approximately ₹9.53 crore), while the runner-up pairs will be awarded around ₹4.7 crore. The total prize pool for wheelchair events—which returned in 2025 following a scheduling conflict with the 2024 Paris Paralympics—has been increased by 44.3% for 2026 to a record $2,309,200 (approximately ₹22 crore). The wheelchair singles champion will receive approximately ₹99 lakh.

Furthermore, the USTA has launched a special $2 million fund for player welfare; this amount will be distributed equally between male and female players, providing financial support in addition to pensions.
