Rishabh Pant had an accident on the highway while going from Delhi to his home in Uttarakhand on December 30 last year, due to which he suffered a minor knee injury, due to which Rishabh Pant had to stay away from cricket.
Recently there is a medical update from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that now he has started batting and keyring, he is trying to get himself fit as soon as possible.
While commentating on the second Test between India and West Indies, Ishant said, "I think we might not see Rishabh Pant in the next IPL because it is not a minor injury." He has just started batting and wicketkeeping. Now there are many things including running and turning which are not easy for a wicketkeeper and a batsman.

Ishant said that the good thing is that he did not undergo a second surgery. Had he had a second surgery, he would have been out for an even longer period of time. He has just had a surgery but I don't think he will be fit for the World Cup for sure. Hopefully if he gets fit for IPL it will be great.
David Warner led the Delhi Capitals team in the IPL 2023 season in the absence of Rishabh Pant. The performance of the franchise has been disappointing. The team finished ninth in the points table. Another season without the wicket-keeper batsman could spell more trouble for the franchise.
Regarding Rishabh Pant, the BCCI had told that there has been a significant improvement in his health in rehab. Pant has started wicketkeeping along with batting in the nets. He is currently following a fitness schedule designed for him which includes strength, flexibility and running
