The T20 World Cup in Australia is now in its final stages. After the first round, all the Super-12 matches have taken place. There are now a total of three matches left in the tournament including two semi-finals and the final. In 16 teams, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and England have managed to make it to the last-4 place. On November 9 (Wednesday), the first semi-final will be played between New Zealand and Pakistan. After that, the teams of India and England will face each other in the second semi-final on November 10 (Thursday).
The effect of rain was seen on a total of seven matches in this tournament. Four of these matches were canceled. Now fans are worried that rain might disturb the semi-finals and final. What if it rains in the remaining three matches? Actually, the ICC has kept a reserve day for the semi-finals and final matches. If the match is not completed on the first day, then the next day the match will start from there.
If the match is not completed on the day of the semi-final, then the over in which the game will stop, will start from the same day on the next day. If a team scored 80 runs for two wickets in the first 11 overs and the match could not be played on that day due to rain, then the same team would start playing the next day with the same score. If it rains on the second day as well and the match is not completed, the team tops in Super-12 will advance to the final. This will benefit New Zealand in the first semi-final and India in the second. In this way, India and New Zealand will clash in the final. New Zealand had topped Group-1 with seven points and India with eight points in Group-2.
What if the T20 World Cup final got washed out due to rain?, According to the rules, after the rain comes, at least five-five overs of the match is necessary for the result. According to media reports, it has been reduced to 10-10 overs in the knockout matches. The final match is to be held on Sunday (13 November). If the match is not decided due to rain, then both teams will be declared joint winners. There has never been a joint winner in the T20 World Cup and ODI World Cup.
The match between India and England will be played on November 10 in Adelaide from 1.30 pm Indian time. If this match between the two countries is not played on the scheduled day and reserved day due to rain, then in that case India will be declared the winner and will reach the final. The Indian team was at the top of Group 2 with a total of 8 points in the Super 12 matches, while the England team finished second in Group 1 with 7 points. In such a situation, if the match is not played due to rain, then according to the rules of the ICC, India will be declared the winner due to being on top of their group.
