The first Test between India and South Africa is being played in Centurion. The first day's play at the SuperSport Park Stadium on Tuesday was ended early due to rain. India has scored 208 runs for 8 wickets. Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada from South Africa took 5 wickets. Wicketkeeper KL Rahul (70 runs) and Mohammed Siraj (0 runs) returned not out from Team India. Both will lead India's first innings on the second day. Today i.e. the second day's play will start on Wednesday at 1 pm Indian time. Even today there is a 60 percent chance of rain.

There will be 98 overs of play every day from the second to the fifth day. Due to rain on the first day, only 59 overs could be played, due to which 31 overs were bowled less.

According to the South African Meteorological Department, there will be 60 percent chance of rain in Centurion today. South Africa will be cloudy since morning and there will be continuous drizzle. The temperature will be around 16 to 22 degrees.

Temba Bavuma could not field 40 overs


South African captain Temba Bavuma could field only 19 overs on the first day. He felt a strain in his hamstring in the 20th over. He went out of the field and went to the doctor to get a scan. Reports revealed that he will undergo medical tests every day. He will get permission to play only after clearing the test.

If Bavuma cannot play the Test due to medical examination, then South Africa will have to bat with only 10 players. Because player replacement is not allowed due to external injuries.

India's wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul scored a half-century on 80 balls. On the first day, he played an unbeaten inning of 70 runs in 105 balls which included 10 fours and a six.

Rabada took 5 wickets


South Africa's star in the first day's play was Kagiso Rabada, who took 5 wickets. Who took the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, R Ashwin and Shardul Thakur.

India lost 8 wickets on the first day

In the first test, South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl first. The team allowed India to score 208 runs even after taking 3 wickets for 24 runs. Kagiso Rabada took 5 wickets from South Africa. While Nandre Berger got 2 and Marco Jansson got one success.

KL Rahul from India remained not out after scoring 70 runs. Whereas Virat Kohli scored 38, Shreyas Iyer scored 31, Shardul Thakur scored 24 and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 17 runs. The rest of the batsmen could not even touch the score of 10 runs.
