The Women's Premier League (WPL) saw its second edition come to an end on March 18, with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeating Delhi Capitals to claim the championship. The game was close, but the RCB, captained by Smriti Madhana, maintained composure to cross the finish line with three balls remaining ultimately. Despite winning six of their eight games to lead the group stage, Delhi Capitals lost the championship game for the second time in a row.

There were some outstanding performances from all five of the teams over the 23-day competition. Fans were treated to an exciting event full of stunning performances by several players, particularly from the two finals teams.

Asha Sobhana was a key component of the RCB team that won the WPL 2024. Together, they were a formidable combination that could destroy even the strongest batting lineups. With an economy of 7.11 over 10 matches, Asha finished the competition as the second-highest wicket-getter.

She had an incredible tournament debut, taking five wickets in the opening game against UP Warriorz while only allowing 22 runs to be scored. Even though she didn't take as many wickets in the remaining matches, the leg-spinner made sure to keep the wicket tight and facilitate the work of other bowlers. With her 2-14 in the last over, RCB was able to dismiss Delhi for a pitiful 113 runs.

4. Shafali Verma (DC)

One of the main factors contributing to the Delhi Capitals' success in the WPL 2024 was Verma's quick starts up top. To create pressure on the opposing bowlers, the right-handed hitter would come out and begin hitting massive shorts from ball one. With an incredible strike rate of 156.87, she amassed 309 runs in nine games, the most in the competition for at least 150 runs.

The lone bright point in Delhi's innings came from her 27-ball 44-run cameo in the finals. In addition, the 20-year-old struck 20 sixes in seven games, which was the highest in the competition.

3. Deepti Sharma (UP Warriorz)

Sharma finished as the top all-around player of the WPL 2024 after having an amazing season with the bat and the ball. She took 10 wickets with the ball in addition to hitting 295 runs. Her all-around talent showed out, despite UP Warriorz having a terrible tournament—five defeats in eight games. She was named the WPL 2024's most valuable player.

In the final three UP games, the right-hand hitter hit three straight fifty runs, but she was unable to lead her side to the playoffs because of a lack of assistance from other players. Sharma's greatest innings came in an unbroken 88 runs in 60 balls against the Gujarat Giants.

2. Shreyanka Patil (RCB)

During the whole of WPL 2024, Patil was outstanding with the ball. She took wickets in nearly every game, culminating in her becoming the tournament's top wicket-taker. Her off-spin bowling was a big factor in RCB's victory in the competition because most hitters had trouble taking her out.

In eight games, the spinner claimed 13 wickets at an economy of 7.30. In the final, she once again displayed remarkable skill with the ball, capturing four wickets in her four overs while conceding only 12 runs. Her bowling this season was excellent since it varied in length and velocity. She didn't think twice about giving the ball air, which turned into a weapon for getting wickets.

1. Smriti Mandhana (RCB)

Before the WPL 2024 season, Mandhana appeared a little out of practice. She was not consistently hitting home homers. But when the competition began, she gradually recovered her form. Against Gujarat Giants in RCB's second season game, she received her maiden nice knock. The left-handed hitter led RCB to an easy victory with 43 runs in 27 balls.

She advanced to the following game, defeating Delhi Capitals with 74 off 43 balls. Even though RCB was not able to win the game, this knock provided her with a lot of confidence. At last, she was displaying her characteristic fearlessness while playing cricket.
