Adidas has been India's design partner since the BCCI signed a multi-year contract with them on May 23, 2023. Before Adidas arrived, it was Killer Jeans, a clothing brand from MPL.
Indian Cricket Board Secretary Jay Shah and Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma unveiled India's new kit for the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup. The official handle of BCCI posted a video which showed the duo testing India's new colors for the first time. During a special event held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, popular German sportswear manufacturer Adidas showcased the new training kit, coaching staff kit and main kit.
Adidas announced the new kit through a video on social media. The video shows Indian cricket stars Rohit, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja welcoming the new kit at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. As shown in the video, the new kit features an attractive mix of blue on the main body and light orange sleeves. Additionally, there are two parallel orange stripes along the waist, as well as Adidas' trademark white stripes. There are also tricolor stripes on the collar of the main kit.
It is time to welcome our team in new colors.
