SRH vs RCB Match Preview: The 54th match of IPL between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from 3:30 pm on Sunday. Virat Kohlis bat has scored only one half-century so far this season while Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson has so far failed to convert a good start into a big innings.
When Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad face off in the IPL match on Sunday, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson, two of the worlds greatest batsmen battling poor form. Both Kohli and Williamson have not been able to perform as expected this season. Kohli has 21 in 11 matches. He scored just 216 runs at an average of 60 while Sunrisers captain Williamson scored 22 runs in 10 matches. Has scored only 199 runs at an average of 11.
Both have failed to live up to their high standards. Both will be trying to contribute to the victory by meeting the expectations of their team. Kohli indicated his return to form by scoring a half-century against Gujarat Titans but could not do any wonders against Chennai Super Kings in the last match. After hitting three fours and a six, he did not get a big shot and kept taking one run. Due to this, Glenn Maxwell was also run out and Kohli himself could only score 30 runs in 33 balls.
Williamson could not convert good starts into big innings. His strike rate is 96. 13 and he needs to bat aggressively now. After winning five matches in a row, the Sunrisers have lost three matches in a row, mainly due to injuries to their star bowlers. At present, he is in sixth place in the points table.
Sunrisers spinner Washington Sundar has again injured his bowling arm while pacer T Natarajan got injured in the match against Chennai. Both could not play against Delhi Capitals, due to which Delhis team scored more than 200 runs.
The Delhi batsmen thrashed fast bowler Umran Malik. Now Malik will have to focus on diversity instead of relying on speed every time. Karthik Tyagi and Shreyas Gopal are also expected to perform better. In batting, Sunrisers have been getting good starts from Abhishek Sharma but they will have to convert a good start into big innings. Nicholas Pooran has been in good form in the last few matches and can play the role of a finisher if he helps from the top order.
When Sunrisers defeated RCB last time, Faf du Plessiss team was out for 68 runs. For RCB, the bowling attack consisting of Josh Hazlewood, Harshal Patel, Mohammad Siraj and Wanindu Hasranga will have to take charge. He has four match-winners while Glenn Maxwell and Shahbaz Ahmed have also done their job well. Apart from Kohli, captain Faf du Plessis, Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik, and Shahbaz Ahmed will also have to play good innings.
The red clay pitch of Wankhede Stadium is well known for batting. Due to the good bounce here, the ball hits the bat well, which the batsmen take advantage of. The boundaries of this ground are very small, so it is much easier for the batsmen to send the ball outside the boundary. On the other hand, if we talk about bowling, the bowlers get good swing from the pitch in the initial overs, apart from this, the spinners also get a lot of help. But if compared, this pitch is more favorable for the batsmen.
The average first innings score in 20 T20 matches played at Wankhede before IPL 2022 has been 175. Teams like to chase on this ground. In such a situation, whichever team wins the toss can go bowling first.
The match between Sunrisers and Bangalore will be played on Sunday 8 May at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It is very hot in Mumbai these days. But on Sunday (May 8), there can be some relief from the heat in Mumbai. Let us tell you that on the day of match day, the maximum temperature in Mumbai will be 34 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature will be 29 degree Celsius.
At the same time, the wind will also blow at a speed of 24 kilometers per hour. If the match is played in the afternoon, then the dew factor will not play such a big role during the match. Apart from this, there is also a possibility of 66 percent humidity, due to which there is a possibility of 10 percent rain. In such a situation, rain can also create a hindrance in the exciting match of SRH and RCB.
