Colombo: Sri Lankan teams data analyst GT Niroshan has tested COVID-19 positive ahead of the limited overs series against India.
The countrys cricket board gave this information on Friday. Prior to him, batting coach Grant Flower had contracted the virus on Thursday and this is the second case of Covid-19 positive after him.
Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement, GT Niroshan, data analyst for the Sri Lankan national team, has been found to be Covid-19 positive.
It said, After Grant Flower tested positive for COVID-19, the national players, coaches and support staff were subjected to PCR tests on Thursday in which GT Niroshan came positive.

According to the statement, Niroshan is undergoing treatment as per the medical protocol. Sri Lanka is scheduled to play a six-match white-ball series (three ODIs and three T20Is) against India, starting on July 13.
Flower is in strict isolation after returning from England. Flower was found positive 48 hours after the Sri Lankan team returned from England.
Note that the series is riding on both the teams and the first ODI will be played on July 13.
The Indian team has been preparing for the last several days and on Thursday, Team Dhawan played the second intra practice match.
Through this match, many Indian batsmen and bowlers, including Prithvi Shaw, have shown a good trailer to the hosts by performing very well, but after the arrival of two Covid-19 cases, the tension has increased in the Indian camp.
