PKL Auction 2024 : Top 5 most expensive players sold

The first day of the PKL 2024 auction saw a record-breaking night with a total of five players crossing the one crore mark. Sachin Tanwar became the most expensive player of PKL 2024 with a total salary of Rs 2.15 crore. He will now be seen playing for the Tamil Thalaivas. Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadlooi Chayneh was the second most expensive player of the night. He was bought by Haryana Steelers for Rs 2.07 crore. Pawan Sehrawat was retained by Telugu Titans for Rs 1.725 crore, who used their Final Bid Match (FBM) card to acquire the services of the Indian captain.

1. Sachin Tanwar (Tamil Thalaivas) - INR 2.15 Crore

Sachin Tanwar emerged as the most expensive player on the first day of the PKL 2024 auction at Rs 2.15 crore. Tamil Thalaivas have roped him in as the franchise hopes to win this time around. Sachin Tanwar has been impressive for Patna Pirates in the last three PKL seasons, scoring 544 points. It is worth noting that he is only 48 points away from scoring 1000 raid points in the PKL.

2. Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh (Haryana Steelers) - INR 2.07 Crore

PKL runners-up Haryana Steelers started the PKL 2024 auction aggressively by buying Iran's star defender Mohammadreza Shadlooei Chayaneh for Rs 2.07 crore. He scored 97 successful tackle points for Puneri Paltan in the 10th edition and was released by the franchise ahead of the auction. His PKL journey started with Patna Pirates in the 2021 season. He scored 94 and 89 points in the 2021 and 2022 seasons

3. Guman Singh (Gujarat Giants) - INR 1.97 Crore

U Mumba star raider Guman Singh has been bought by Gujarat Giants for Rs 1.97 crore. Guman has scored 305 points for U Mumba in the last two seasons and has thus become one of the top raiders of the franchise. He made his PKL debut with Jaipur Pink Panthers in 2019 and scored five points in three matches. He was then signed by Patna Pirates for the 2021 season, where he scored 97 points.

4. Pawan Sehrawat (Telugu Titans) - Rs 1.725 crore

Pawan Sehrawat has been retained by Telugu Titans for INR 1.725 crores through the Final Bid Match (FBM) option. Last season, he scored 217 points in 21 matches for the Titans. However, he could not change the fortunes of the franchise. After his re-joining, Sehrawat will hope to change the fortunes of the Titans. He has scored 962 points in the last three seasons

5. Bharat (UP Yoddhas) – INR 1.30 Crore

Bharat, the star raider of Bengaluru Bulls in the last three seasons, has got a new franchise in the form of UP Yoddha for the upcoming PKL 2024 season. He was bought for Rs 1.30 crore. Star raider Surender Gill has already been retained, with the inclusion of Bharat, UP Yoddha looks like a strong raiding unit. Bharat's best PKL season came in 2022 when he scored 282 points in 23 matches
