The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the three-match ODI series against Australia. Shaheen Afridi has been entrusted with the captaincy, while Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah have returned to the squad. Conversely, Mohammad Rizwan has been dropped from the team due to poor form. The first ODI match between Pakistan and Australia is scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi on May 30.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced its squad on Friday for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia. The command of the team has once again been handed to fast bowler Shaheen Afridi. Several key players have made a comeback to the squad; Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf have all been included in the ODI team. Additionally, Sufiyan Muqeem, who was not part of the previous series against Bangladesh, has also made a return. Meanwhile, veteran wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has been left out of the squad.

Shaheen Shah Afridi (Captain), Salman Ali Agha (Vice-Captain), Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, Maaz Sadaqat, Muhammad Ghazi Ghouri (Wicketkeeper), Rohail Nazir (Wicketkeeper), Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Shadab Khan, Shamyl Hussain, Sufiyan Muqeem.
The decision not to include Rizwan in the squad came as the biggest surprise. His performance in the Pakistan Super League did not live up to expectations, leading the selectors to overlook him for this series. Rizwan was part of the squad for the ODI series played against Bangladesh in March of this year; however, in that series, he managed to score only 58 runs across three innings. Meanwhile, Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub have also been ruled out of the squad due to injuries. Both players are currently undergoing rehabilitation under the supervision of the PCB's medical panel.
Opportunity for Three New Players
Three players have been given an opportunity in the Pakistan squad who have not yet made their ODI debut. Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, and Rohail Nazir have become part of the ODI team for the first time. However, all three players have previously played T20 International cricket. According to the PCB, Usman Khan was unavailable for selection due to illness.
