The BCCI announced the schedule of IPL 2022 on Sunday, March 6. The season will kick off with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on March 26 at 7.30 pm. CSK and KKR played the IPL 2021 final. The season will be played across 4 four venues in Maharashtra with a total of 74 matches to be played. The IPL 2022 will be a 10-team event with two new teams Lucknow Supergiants and Gujarat Titans being added into the fold.

Jofra Archer, who has been away from cricket for a long time due to an elbow injury, has returned to the nets. Mumbai Indians have posted the video of this England player on their social media account. In the IPL 2022 auction, Mumbai Archer has been included in his team by spending a hefty amount of 8 crores even though he knew that he will not be available for selection this year. In the video shared by Mumbai Archer, he has not seen bowling but batting.

Jofra Archer had already made it clear before giving his name in the auction that he would not play in IPL 2022. Despite this, Mumbai Indians rained notes on Archer during the IPL auction (IPL 2022 Auction) and surprised everyone by giving him eight crore rupees. Archer had not earlier given his name for the mega auction, but later he registered for it and he was put in huge bids.

IPL 2022 is going to start from 26th March. Mumbai Indians will play their first match against Delhi Capitals on March 27. The final match of the 15th season is to be played on 29 May.
