Highest Individual Score on ODI Debut: Delivering a magnificent performance in one's very first One Day International (ODI) match is a dream come true for any player. However, creating a sensation in the cricketing world by playing a historic innings of 150 runs on debut is an exceptionally rare feat.

South Africa's 24-year-old left-handed batsman, Jordan Hermann, achieved this remarkable feat in the first ODI against Namibia in Windhoek. By scoring 150 runs off 126 balls, he equaled a world record.

After losing the toss and coming out to bat first against Namibia in Windhoek, Jordan Hermann gave the South African team an aggressive start. Putting the opposition bowlers under pressure right from the outset, Hermann rained down fours and sixes all around the ground.

  • Total Runs: 150 runs off 126 balls
  • Boundaries: 17 fours and 3 magnificent sixes
  • Key Partnerships:
    • A massive 190-run partnership off 166 balls for the second wicket with Tony de Zorzi (72 runs, 84 balls).
    • A brisk 59-run partnership off 45 balls for the third wicket with Dewald Brevis.

Hermann had a golden opportunity to claim this record entirely for himself. Had he scored just one more run (reaching 151), he would have become the sole record-holder for the highest score by a batsman on ODI debut. However, he was dismissed by Ruben Trumpelmann in the 42nd over of the innings.

Riding on this historic innings, South Africa posted a massive total of 348/6 in 50 overs and won the rain-affected match by 99 runs under the DLS method.
