India registered a convincing whitewash against the WI team in the last match. Rohit Sharmas captaincy has been praised by everyone so far. Indian Cricket Team has reached Lucknow for the opening T20I at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium on Thursday.
After a successful series against the West Indies at home, India is all set to host Sri Lanka for a 3-match T20I and a 2-match Test series. The T20I series gets underway from the 24th of February while the Test series will begin from the 4th of March. The first T20I will be played at Ekana Stadium, Lucknow while the next two will be played at HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala.

India whitewashed the West Indies side in the 3-match T20I series. Suryakumar Yadav scored 107 runs for them while Harshal Patel picked 5 wickets.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka lost their recent T20I series to Australia 4-1. Pathum Nissanka was the leading run-scorer of the series, with 184 runs in 5 games. Dushmantha Chameera picked 7 wickets for them in the series.
Jadeja, Samson and Jasprit Bumrah have returned to the Indian squad. Bumrah has also been adorned with the added responsibility of vice-captain, with Rohit Sharma as his main man. Sri Lanka has also prepared a pretty strong side for this series, with Dasun Shanaka as its leader. However, Avishka Fernando, Nuwan Thushara, and Ramesh Mendis have been ruled out of the series due to injuries.
India recently regained their number one spot in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings while the Sri Lankan team is standing ninth on the rankings.

These two teams have met each other a total of 19 times in this format, where India won 13 matches while Sri Lanka won 5 matches.
Both the teams have a bunch of youngsters on their side and it would be interesting to see who comes at the top.

As far as the head-to-head records are concerned, India has won 14 games however SL has registered 7 wins.
Sri Lanka has played four T20 series in India and their best result was back in 2009-10 when they drew the two-match series.
Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium has hosted only 4 T20Is to date. There is pace in the wicket and will assist the quicks for the entire match having said the batter’s score runs freely. Anything more than 170 is a good score here.
The temperature is expected to hover around 27°C on the matchday with 60 % humidity and 11 km/hr wind speed. There are no chances of precipitation during the game.
