New Zealand tour of India, 2024: The next big challenge for the New Zealand team, which suffered a crushing defeat in the Test series played in Sri Lanka, is the tour of India (IND vs NZ), which is going to start from October 16. There are three Test matches to be played between the two teams, which are very important in terms of making it to the final of the World Test Championship. In such a situation, New Zealand will try to do well by forgetting their poor performance in the last Test series. However, New Zealand has received bad news even before the start of the Bengaluru Test, and fast bowler Ben Sears, who is part of the team, has been ruled out of the entire series due to a knee injury. New Zealand Cricket shared the information about Sears being out.

New Zealand recently toured Sri Lanka and played a two-match Test series there, in which it faced a clean sweep. During the same series, while training, Ben Sears experienced pain in his left knee. After this, he underwent a scan in New Zealand. The scan revealed that there was some problem in his knee. It was expected that he would be fit for the India tour but after medical advice, it has been decided to exclude him from the series. This fast bowler made his Test debut against Australia this year and has played only one match so far, in which he took five wickets.

New Zealand has included Jacob Duffy due to Ben Sears being ruled out of the Test series against India. Duffy is a right-arm fast bowler and has played white ball cricket for New Zealand but has not yet made his Test debut. Duffy will fly to India tomorrow morning.
Regarding the exclusion of Ben Sears, head coach Gary Stead said that we are obviously disappointed for Ben who made a strong start to his Test career during the home summer and provided an option in fast bowling. It remains to be seen how long he will be out, but we hope he will return soon. This is an exciting opportunity for Jacob who has been part of the Test squad before. There are three Tests ahead and he has every chance to debut.
