The 2020 edition of the T20 World Cup was canceled because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Australia was suffering from covid19 at that time and they were not ready to host the 2021 edition. Therefore, India swapped the rights of the tournament. after that, the T20 World Cup was held in the UAE by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Cricket Australia got the postponed version of the 2020 edition scheduled for 2022.

Now ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2022 is going to be organized in Australia, Hosts and defending champion Australia will start their campaign against New Zealand - the team they beat in 2021 T20 World cups final to become the champions for the first time in their history. Meanwhile, two-time champions West Indies will have to go through the qualifying stage (Round 1) to make the Super 12 stage this time around.

ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2022 Full Schedule

The schedule for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 has been revealed. The event gets underway from October 16 when former champions Sri Lanka take on Namibia in Round 1 with the final to be played on November 16.

T20 World Cup 2022: Just like the last edition, India will be launching their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against the arch-rival Pakistan on October 23 (Sunday) at Melbourne Cricket Ground. On Friday, the T20 World Cup schedule was revealed. India with teams like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa are placed in Group 2.
