Suryakumar Yadav celebrated the new year in January 2023 by scoring a brilliant century against Sri Lanka in Rajkot. Yadav started aggressively after the powerplay, thanks to a strong start from Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi. He dominated the Sri Lankan bowling, hitting seven fours and nine big sixes. Yadav scored an unbeaten 112 off just 51 balls, taking India's total to 228-5 in 20 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav toured South Africa in December 2023 as the captain of the Indian T20 team. In the third match against South Africa in Johannesburg, he hit several brilliant sixes after India's initial troubles. He hit eight sixes and seven fours, helping India reach a mammoth score of 201 runs. Yadav scored a century in just 55 balls, which was his fourth T20 century and he equaled the record of Rohit Sharma and Glenn Maxwell. Thanks to his brilliant performance, Team India won by 106 runs and leveled the series.

Suryakumar Yadav's impressive performance in T20 earned him a place in the Indian team for the England tour in 2022. He played the third match and while chasing a target of 216 runs to win the series 3-0, India lost three wickets for 31 runs. But Suryakumar scored 117 runs in 55 balls with the help of 14 fours and six sixes but was dismissed by Moeen Ali. India lost by 17 runs.

Suryakumar Yadav played a brilliant innings by scoring 111 runs off just 51 balls at Mount Maunganui during the T20 match on the New Zealand tour in November 2022. He hit seven sixes and 11 fours as India scored 191-6 in 20 overs. Surya particularly targeted Lockie Ferguson and scored 22 runs off his last six balls. His performance was crucial as India won the match by 65 runs to take an early lead in the three-match series.

Team India lost half of its wickets for just 49 runs against South Africa in Perth during the 2022 T20 World Cup. Surya Kumar Yadav helped his team reach a respectable score of 133 runs by the end of 20 overs. Yadav scored 68 runs off 40 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes, which was more than half of the team's total score. No other Indian batsman could score more than captain Rohit Sharma's 15 runs. India had to face defeat due to David Miller's brilliant performance in the run chase.
