New Zealand's Devon Conway has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 due to injury. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have included England's Richard Gleeson in the squad as Conway's representative. Conway did not play a single match this season.
Conway was unavailable for the first half of IPL 2024 due to injury. He had surgery on his Nicholas last month and is off the table from the playing field.
Conway was player of the match in the final against GT last year. CSK won this match by 5 wickets. In IPL 2023, he scored 672 runs in 16 matches. He was the highest run scorer from his team.
Conway was signed by CSK in the 2022 auction at a base price of Rs 1 crore. The left-handed batsman has so far scored 924 runs in 23 IPL matches at an average of 46.12 and strike rate of 141.28.

Richard Gleeson is an English fast bowler. He is 36 years old and bowls right-arm fast. He made his T20 International debut against the Indian team in 2022. Right arm pacer Gleeson has taken 9 wickets in 6 T20 International matches for England. Meanwhile, his best performance has been taking 3 wickets while giving 15 runs. CSK has included him in the squad for the reserve price of Rs 50 lakh.
