Cricket at LA28: The International Olympic Committee has officially announced the inclusion of cricket in the Olympics 2028. Along with cricket, four other sports have also been added to the Olympics 2028.
Cricket has been entered in the Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles, America in the year 2028. The final decision on this was taken in the Mumbai meeting of the International Olympic Committee. In this meeting, an official decision was taken to include cricket along with 4 other sports in the Olympics 2028.
Along with cricket, baseball-softball, flag football, squash, and lacrosse will also be organized in the Olympics 2028. Last Friday itself, talks seemed to be underway regarding the entry of these five sports in the Olympics. In fact, last week itself the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee had approved talks on the proposal of Los Angeles sports organizers to include these five sports in the Olympics 2028.
The last round of talks on this matter went on in Mumbai from Sunday and then today (16-10-2023) afternoon, an official announcement was made to include these sports in the Olympics.

Cricket was also played earlier in the 1900 Paris Olympics. That means it will return to the Olympics after 128 years. Efforts were going on for a long time to include cricket in the Olympics. Now cricket has got entry in the world's biggest sporting event. ICC has worked hard for this.

Cricket will be played in T20 format in Olympics 2028. There will be both men's and women's events. At present, it has been proposed to give entry to only 6-6 teams. There may be clarity regarding the number of teams in the coming days.
