Champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have a settled and strong squad in the IPL, and ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-auction, the franchise needs to take some decisions looking at the future. While most of the fans are curious to know who will be the captain of CSK, Chennai Super Kings released the list of their released players on Sunday (November 26).
Keeping in mind the history of CSK's working structure, the Chennai-based team will retain most of the players while releasing a few players.
Ambati Rayudu, one of the finest players in the IPL, had announced his retirement after winning the final last year, while star England all-rounder Ben Stokes recently decided to opt out of the upcoming season to manage his workload and fitness.
Ben Stokes, who has been battling knee problems since the beginning of 2022 and has retired from ODIs to participate in the recently concluded World Cup, admitted that he is undergoing much-needed knee surgery. However, the franchise is said to be in support of his decision. Due to his unavailable, CSK decision makers considered releasing him before the auction.
