Babar Azam posted and announced his resignation from limited-overs captaincy

Babar Azam wrote on his X account, "Dear fans, I am sharing some news with you today. I have decided to resign as captain of the Pakistan men's cricket team as informed to the PCB and team management last month. It has been an honor for me to lead this team, but now the time has come for me to step down and focus on my playing role."

He further wrote, "Captaincy has been a great experience, but it has also increased the workload. I want to prioritize my performance, enjoy my batting and spend quality time with my family, which makes me happy. Stepping down will give me clarity moving forward and allow me to focus more on my game and personal development.

I am grateful for your unwavering support and belief in me. Your enthusiasm means a lot to me. I am proud of what we have achieved together and am excited to continue contributing to the team as a player. Thank you for your love and support."
