I have decided to resign as captain of the Pakistan men's cricket team as informed to the PCB and team management last month. It has been an honor for me to lead this team, but now the time has come for me to step down and focus on my playing role."
He further wrote, "Captaincy has been a great experience, but it has also increased the workload. I want to prioritize my performance, enjoy my batting and spend quality time with my family, which makes me happy. Stepping down will give me clarity moving forward and allow me to focus more on my game and personal development.
