The Pakistan cricket team and its players are once again embroiled in controversy. Just before the start of the T20 World Cup 2024, the Pakistan cricket team organized a private dinner in the US, where they invited fans to meet. However, this initiative was not free or for any charity. A fee of US$25 was kept for this private dinner. Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif revealed this. He told that the Pakistan Cricket Board and the players have organized it.
Rashid Latif said, there are official dinners, but this is a private dinner. Who can do this? This is horrible. This means you can meet our players for $25. God forbid, if something goes wrong, people will say the boys are making money.
Latif also said that it may have been a charity dinner, but private dinners for money are beyond comprehension. He said, people tell me that whoever invites Pakistani players, he just asks, 'How much money will you pay?' This has become a common thing. Things were different in our time. We had 2-3 dinners, but they were official.
This is highlighted because it is the World Cup. So players should be careful. $25 should not be used openly like this. You go to 2-3 dinners, but without any commercial angle. You can go for charity dinners and fundraisers, but it is neither fundraising nor charity dinner. It is a private function with the name of Pakistan and Pakistan cricket associated with it. Don't make such a mistake.
The first match of the Pakistan cricket team is against the US on June 6 at the Grand Prix Stadium in Dallas. At the same time, the team will play against India on June 9 at the Nassau County Ground in New York.
