John Wick is back: Ballerina movie trailer shows Ana de Armas and John Wick in full swing

Ballerina's action-packed trailer The much-awaited spinoff of the John Wick franchise is finally here. The sequel to the John Wick movie, Ballerina, is set to hit theaters on June 6, 2025. This adrenaline-fueled action thriller, starring Ana de Armas as Eve Macaro, a Rusca Roman ballerina turned deadly assassin, is set to deliver non-stop suspense and thrills.

Directed by Len Wiseman and written by Shay Hatten, Ballerina is a story set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, focusing on Eve's origins and her relentless quest for revenge. After the brutal murder of her family, Eve sets out to eliminate the ruthless killers responsible, using her skills as a ballerina and a deadly assassin.

Ballerina movie trailer: The trailer shows Eve's precision and style, who cuts down her enemies with ease, from attacking with ice skates to dousing a fire thrower with a high-powered hose. But the most exciting part is her encounter with the great Baba Yaga himself, John Wick (Keanu Reeves). Reeves, who reprises his iconic role, has a pivotal role in the film, as confirmed by writer Shay Hatten.

Fans are quite excited for the spinoff, especially seeing Ana de Armas back in an action avatar. They took to the comments section to express their love for the big movie release. One fan wrote, "If this hits... we'll get Ballerina part 2 and part 3," Another fan wrote, "This is what the Black Widow movie should have been," Another person commented, "Yes, Ana de Armas meets Keanu Reeves again, just like the knock knock movie," Yet another person wrote, "Ana de Armas' 5 minute action scene was the best part of the last James Bond movie. I'm so glad we're going to get more of her."

Ana de Armas recently opened up about her difficult experience filming the Ballerina movie in Prague with Keanu Reeves. During her appearance on The Tonight Show in January, she shared, "We still have another month to go. And I'm in pain. You know, my body, my back, everything is hurting. I'm complaining, I'm sad, I'm hurting."

"Keanu and I were rehearsing my really difficult stunt scene and this guy was rolling me and throwing me and doing these crazy stunts," Ana recalled. "And I was like, 'I can't complain anymore.' Because he was doing it. He's really the best," she added.

Ana de Armas is joined by franchise veterans Ian McShane, Anjelica Huston and the late Lance Reddick, as well as newcomers Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Norman Reedus. In the film, audiences will see the legacy of John Wick continue, with Eve Macaro set to take center stage and Ana de Armas unleashing her deadly skills and experiencing the high-octane action that has made the John Wick series a global phenomenon.
