iPhone Fold: When will Apple first foldable phone launch in India?: This year, Apple is gearing up to launch two of its major and highly anticipated products: a new AI-powered Siri and the long-awaited iPhone Fold. However, the company has lagged slightly behind its competitors in the realms of AI and foldable smartphones, as nearly every smartphone brand today offers AI features, and Samsung pioneered foldable phones back in 2019. Nevertheless, Apple is expected to deliver a distinct and premium experience within this segment.

When to Expect the iPhone Fold:

As is the case every year, Apple's new iPhones are expected to launch this September. It is believed that the iPhone Fold could be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series. However, a completely clear picture regarding its availability has yet to emerge.

According to some reports, sales could commence immediately upon launch; other reports, however, cite production difficulties that could lead to delays, potentially pushing its release back to 2027.

Design and Display-

According to leaks, the design of the iPhone Fold is such that when opened, it will offer users a premium experience. When closed, it may appear slightly wider and more compact, while upon opening, its aesthetic could resemble that of an iPad mini. It is expected to feature a 5.5-inch external display alongside a larger 7.8-inch internal display.

Regarding the display, the company may utilize Samsung's latest M16 OLED panels, which have been engineered for exceptional power efficiency. Furthermore, new hinge technology could significantly minimize the screen crease (the visible fold line), resulting in a much smoother display surface.

Touch ID Instead of Face ID?

To maintain a slim profile, Apple may decide to forgo Face ID this time around. According to reports, the company could integrate the Touch ID sensor directly into the power button. This shift is likely being driven by the phone's slim design, as fitting the components required for Face ID into the device could prove challenging.

Camera Setup-

In terms of cameras, the iPhone Fold is expected to feature a dual-rear camera setup, likely comprising a 48MP main lens and a 48MP ultra-wide lens. It may not include a telephoto lens. Additionally, there is a possibility of a 24MP under-display camera on the inner screen and a punch-hole camera on the outer screen, aimed at providing users with an enhanced experience for video calls and selfies.

Performance, Storage, and Battery-

For performance, the iPhone Fold may be powered by Apple's next-generation A20 Pro chipset, built on 2nm process technology. This could result in improvements in both the phone's speed and power efficiency. The device is expected to come equipped with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. Speaking of the battery, it could feature a large battery ranging from 5,400mAh to 5,800mAh—which would likely be the largest battery ever seen in an iPhone. Furthermore, there is a possibility that this device will support only eSIMs and will not include a slot for a physical SIM card.

Samsung Galaxy Foldable Smartphone—

Samsung is expected to launch its next foldable smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, in July. This timeline reportedly aligns with the launch schedule of its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. According to reports, the device has been spotted on a Chinese certification website alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8. There is speculation that, this time around, the company may increase the charging speeds compared to previous models.

Display and Design—

According to leaks, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature a large, foldable inner screen measuring approximately 8 inches, while the exterior is likely to sport a 6.5-inch cover display. Both screens are expected to offer a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring an exceptionally smooth scrolling and gaming experience. The foldable display may utilize dual-layer UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass), potentially paired with a laser-drilled metal support plate to further enhance its structural durability.

Performance and Processor—

In terms of performance, this smartphone is poised to be a powerhouse. It is expected to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which will ensure an incredibly smooth experience for heavy gaming and multitasking. For photography, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature a high-end camera setup. According to reports, it may include a 200-megapixel primary camera equipped with a 1/1.3-inch sensor. Additionally, this device is expected to feature a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera, which will support 3x optical zoom.
