This Durga Puja, the Neta Nagar Barwari of Kydganj is set to transport visitors back millions of years to the age of dinosaurs, with a one-of-a-kind pandal that brings the prehistoric era to life. Starting on October 9, this theme-based Durga Puja pandal will immerse visitors in the vibrant world of the Amazon rainforest, home to both the mighty Amazon River and the diverse flora and fauna that once thrived there, including dinosaurs and anacondas.

Under the creative leadership of veteran artist Laxmikant Mahapatra, affectionately known as Lucky Dada, a team of 15 expert artisans from West Bengal has been tirelessly working for the past two months to create this awe-inspiring setup. Lucky Dada, who boasts over 30 years of experience crafting theme-based pandals, shared his excitement: 'We're recreating the Amazon rainforest with various species of dinosaurs and reptiles, including the gigantic anaconda and even Godzilla. It will be a visual treat for all who visit.'

The eco-friendly pandal is designed to both entertain and educate, particularly the young visitors. 'We’ve used materials from India, including Rajasthan, Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha, Assam, and West Bengal. Even the jewellery worn by Maa Durga and other deities will be crafted from sustainable materials like clay, husk, and jute,' Mahapatra explained.

Visitors will enter through a cave, greeted by life-sized replicas of dinosaurs and anacondas, crafted from dried grass. The ambience is enhanced by synchronized lighting and sound effects that replicate the dense, mysterious atmosphere of the Amazon rainforest. The main stage will feature a majestic Durga idol, intricately designed from eco-friendly materials, reinforcing the theme of sustainability and reverence for nature.

Prepare to be transported into a prehistoric world where nature reigns supreme, and celebrate Durga Puja in an unforgettable setting.
