FC Dunav is a Bulgarian professional football club based in the city of Ruse. Following its promotion in 2026, it will compete in the 'First League,' the highest tier of the Bulgarian football league system.
Originally part of a larger sports organization, Dunav was founded on February 16, 1949, through the merger of two local football clubs—Dinamo and Rusenets. Nicknamed 'The Dragons,' the club plays in light blue and white home kits. Named after the Danube River (on whose banks the city of Ruse is situated), the club plays its home matches at the local 'Gradski Stadium,' which has a seating capacity of 13,000 spectators.
The club's notable achievements include reaching the Bulgarian Championship final in 1937, finishing fourth in the 'First League' in 1975, 1989, and 2017, and playing in four domestic cup finals—in 1938, 1939, 1941, and 1962, respectively. The club most recently competed in the top league during the 2019–20 season.
