In October 2026, the Zimbabwe women’s team will tour India for the first time for a historic white-ball series. This will mark their maiden visit to India and the first-ever bilateral series between the two sides. The tour, scheduled from October 16 to 28, will feature three T20Is in Raipur and three ODIs in Vadodara. The series also signals the beginning of a new era for the hosts, India, as Smriti Mandhana will take charge as the full-time captain across all formats for the first time. For the Zimbabwe side, led by captain Josephine Nkomo, this will be an excellent opportunity to compete against one of the strongest teams in the world.
India enters this series with new leadership. For the first time in her career, Smriti Mandhana has been appointed as the full-time captain for both formats. She replaces Harmanpreet Kaur, who stepped down from the position. Shafali Verma serves as the vice-captain for the T20I side, while Deepti Sharma is the vice-captain for the ODI team; Harmanpreet remains a key member of both squads. Jemimah Rodrigues will miss this series due to a hamstring injury. The Zimbabwe team, led by captain Josephine Nkomo, is arriving for its maiden tour of India—the same side that recently featured in a series against the West Indies.
