Multan Sultans team includes some familiar faces such as Imran Tahir, Shan Masood, Sohaib Maqsood, Khushdil Shah and Mohammad Rizwan. Players picked up by Multan in the PSL 2022 draft include the likes of Tim David, Odean Smith, Rilee Rossouw Rumman Raees and Rovman Powell. They have a mix of experienced and young players in the squad which will enable them to perform according to the situation of the game. Multan Sultans is a Pakistani professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team representing the city of Multan in southern Punjab in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The team was founded in 2017, when the PCB announced the inclusion of the sixth team. Multan Cricket Stadium is team's home ground, which has the capacity of hosting 30,000 spectators and has 5 floodlights installed for Day/night cricket match.Shan Masood is the current captain of the team. Ahead of the 2020 PSL, Former England cricket team's Head coach Andy Flower was appointed as the Head Coach.
After their debut season, Schön Properties who bought the team in 2017, failed to pay their annual fee of US$5.2 million, and thus their contract was terminated. Ali Khan Tareen and Taimoor Malik of Multan Consortium became the new owners of the team, who won the rights of the team on 20 December 2018 for US$6.2 million, opting not to change the name of the team.
Multan will begin their campaign against Karachi Kings in the opening match of PSL 7 on 27 January at National Stadium Karachi. Their last group stage match is against Islamabad United on 20 February at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. Multan will play five matches each in both the venues of the competition, Karachi and Lahore.
