Hailing from Jamaica, Jermaine Blackwood is an explosive batsman who shot to prominence after scoring heavily in the 2013-14 domestic season. He was handed an opportunity against the touring Bangladesh A team in which he scored a valiant century. That knock didn't go unnoticed and as soon as there was a vacancy in the national team, Blackwood was included in the squad.

Blackwood impressed in his first Test outing with a solid knock and his first century came against England in 2015.
