Zaheer Khan Buys LPL Franchise Jaffna Kings: Former Indian pace legend Zaheer Khan has taken a significant step in expanding his footprint in the business of cricket. Zaheer Khan and businessman Nagendra Siddutham have acquired ownership of the 'Jaffna Kings', one of the most successful franchises in the Lanka Premier League (LPL), through the Stockholm-based sports ownership company 'Anchor Sports AB'.

Following this acquisition, the franchise will be officially renamed 'Anchor Jaffna Kings'. With this major deal, the team has now become a key part of 'Anchor Sports AB's' rapidly growing global multi-club sports portfolio.
This development brings relief to the Jaffna Kings after a period of turbulence. Notably, following the end of the previous ownership, the franchise had been operating under the emergency regulatory control of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the 'Innovation Production Group ', which holds the rights to the LPL since July 23.

Expressing his delight at becoming the owner of the Jaffna Kings, Zaheer Khan said:

I am truly excited to be part of Sri Lankan cricket as an owner and eagerly look forward to working with the ‘Anchor Jaffna Kings’.”

Welcoming the partnership upon Zaheer Khan joining the league, Lanka Premier League Tournament Director Samantha Dodanwela said:
“Having someone of Zaheer Khan’s caliber join the Anchor Jaffna Kings is immensely beneficial for the league. The guidance and direction he provides to our young Sri Lankan players will be invaluable. We are excited to see the players reap the benefits of his vast experience, both on and off the field.”
