WPL Auction 2027: Full List of 146 Players Revealed

Preparations for the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2027 auction are complete. The auction will take place on October 28 in Kochi, Kerala, with a total of 146 players shortlisted. Since there are only 27 vacant slots across all teams, intense competition is expected among the franchises to secure their preferred players. Of the 146 players in the auction pool, 119 are Indian and 27 are from overseas.

Among the Indian players, 22 are 'capped' (having played in international matches) and 97 are 'uncapped' (having not played in international matches), while the overseas contingent consists of 14 experienced players and 13 newcomers. This list of overseas players also includes 6 players from Associate nations.

Slots available for 20 Indian and 7 overseas players

There are a total of 27 vacant slots in the WPL 2027 auction—20 for Indian players and 7 for overseas players. Given the limited number of spots and the pool of available players, each team will need to devise a well-thought-out strategy tailored to its specific requirements. This year, there is a significant number of 'uncapped' Indian players (those who have not played in international matches) in the auction; 97 such players have registered, while 22 'capped' Indian players (those who have played in international matches) have also entered their names.

Sophia Dunkley and Sophie Molineux have the highest base price

In the auction, England’s Sophia Dunkley and Australia’s Sophie Molineux have the highest base price, at ₹50 lakh. Meanwhile, India’s G. Kamalini and Kiran Navgire, along with overseas players Heather Graham and Jess Jonassen, have a base price of ₹40 lakh. Additionally, a total of 30 players have registered with a starting price of ₹30 lakh.

What time will the auction begin?

The Women's Premier League (WPL) 2027 auction will commence on October 28 at 5:30 PM. During this auction, which will take place in Kochi, all the teams will place bids on players to fill their vacant slots and strive to make their squads as strong as possible.

Matches to be held in Mumbai and Vadodara

As in the previous year, Mumbai’s CCI and Vadodara’s Kotambi Stadium will serve as the primary venues for the 2027 season. Matches for Season 4 were also held at these two locations, with the final taking place in Vadodara on February 5. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are the reigning champions of the tournament. All teams are now looking ahead to the player auction on October 28, where each franchise will aim to further strengthen its squad.
