Team India New Chief Selector:The BCCI has finally selected its new chief selector. Following Ajit Agarkar, Pragyan Ojha has been appointed as the chief selector. Pragyan Ojha had initially served as the interim chief, but the former cricketer has now been appointed as the full-time chief selector.

According to reports, former cricketers Wasim Jaffer, Ramesh Powar, Connor Williams, and Jacob Martin had also applied for the position of Team India's chief selector, but none of them were chosen. The BCCI deemed it appropriate to go with Pragyan Ojha.

Team India’s New Selection Committee

Pragyan Ojha will now serve as the chairman of Team India’s new selection committee. Joining him on the committee are Shiv Sundar Das, RP Singh, Ajay Ratra, and Ramesh Powar. Ramesh Powar is the newest member of the selection committee.

As for Pragyan Ojha, the former cricketer took 113 wickets in 24 Test matches for India. He also claimed 21 wickets in 18 ODIs and 10 wickets in 6 T20 matches.

Career Ended in Sachin’s Final Match

The most intriguing aspect of Pragyan Ojha’s career is that it came to an end during the very same match that served as Sachin Tendulkar’s final appearance a match in which Ojha was named 'Player of the Match.' On November 16, at the Wankhede Stadium, India secured a victory over the West Indies by an innings and 126 runs.

This was the final match of Sachin Tendulkar’s career, marking his retirement. In this same game, Pragyan Ojha claimed a total of 10 wickets—taking five in each innings—and was rightfully named the hero of the match. Yet, he was never selected for the national team again.

The reason for this remains unknown, but Pragyan Ojha’s international career came to an abrupt end. Remarkably, however, this former cricketer has now gone on to become a chief selector for Team India.
