With the start of the highly anticipated Indian Premier League on March 22, cricket enthusiasts nationwide are riveted to their TV screens. In addition, a lot of individuals purchase stadium seats only for the excitement of perhaps witnessing their favourite cricket player. A photo of a woman sitting at a stadium and using her phone to watch the American comedy 'FRIENDS' has become popular online amidst all of this. Why she chose to watch the performance over a live match piqued the interest of many online users.

The image depicts a lady during an IPL match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Lucknow Super Giants, seated in a packed stadium, watching an episode of the American sitcom on her phone. Deepak Kumar captioned the photo with, 'Can't believe this girl is watching Friends during an IPL match.'

On the microblogging site, the message has received 4,000 likes and more than two lakh views since it was shared.

The match must be boring, a user commented.

'Not unbelievable,' another person said. The Chinnaswamy is this. For many people, watching Friends may be soothing. Didn't hold the girl accountable!'

Another was added, 'Forced due to FOMO so doing what he likes doing the best'

'Well, the IPL and Friends are both overrated, to be honest. Oppisy!' said someone.

'She is trying to find new friends after her existing friends forced her to watch an RCB game,' said one individual.

One more person said, 'Well, I don't blame her. Nobody is genuinely interested in this year's IPL; it is completely uninteresting. Not in my group, at least.

An X user commented, 'That's a really costly ticket getting wasted.'

Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants completely outclassed Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Tuesday, winning by 28 runs thanks to Mayank Yadav's youthful brilliance and Quinton de Kock's fifty. This was Royal Challengers Bengaluru's third straight loss in the ongoing IPL 2024.
