Sanika Chandrakant Mane’s ‘Golden Goal’

The final match witnessed a fierce contest between the two teams. While the host nation, China, enjoyed tremendous support from the home crowd, the Indian defense and forward line displayed remarkable composure.

In the 17th minute during the second quarter Indian striker Sanika Chandrakant Mane outwitted the opposing goalkeeper to score a field goal. This goal by Sanika proved to be the only one of the match and ultimately the decisive strike.

Following this, the Chinese team made several aggressive attempts to equalize, but the Indian defense and goalkeeper stood like an impenetrable wall, thwarting every move China made. With this commanding performance, India clinched the title for the third consecutive time.
