Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal clashed with Sri Lankan fast bowler Asitha Fernando after getting out. A heated exchange and physical contact occurred between the two players, creating a tense atmosphere on the field.
The incident took place on the final ball of the 17th over of India's first innings. Jaiswal had been in excellent touch during the over, hitting three consecutive boundaries off Fernando's bowling. However, Asitha Fernando made a brilliant comeback on the final delivery.

Fernando bowled a length delivery from 'round the wicket' that cut sharply inwards after pitching. Jaiswal attempted to punch the ball towards the off-side, but it took an inside edge off his bat and crashed straight into the stumps. As Jaiswal was bowled, Fernando celebrated aggressively; while he was initially at some distance from the batter, he looked towards Jaiswal and made a remark.

Physical Contact On Field: Sri Lankan Captain Intervenes
Hearing the bowler's remark, Jaiswal, who was walking back to the pavilion, suddenly turned around and advanced towards Fernando. The two players came into close proximity, engaging in a heated verbal exchange and physical contact.
Seeing the situation escalate, the Sri Lankan captain immediately intervened, separating the players and defusing the tension. Given the nature of the incident, it is believed that the ICC could take strict action against both players for violating the Code of Conduct.
